Sailboats at Seabrook on Clear Lake

Encompassing parts of Harris and Galveston Counties, Clear Lake, or the Clear Lake Area is part of the Galveston Bay Area southeast of Houston. Geographically characterized by the bodies of water in and around it—including Clear Lake, Taylor Lake, Clear Creek and Galveston Bay—Clear Lake is relatively affluent and has a thriving business community, which focuses largely on tourism and aerospace, particularly as it is home to the Johnson Space Center and many aerospace contracting firms. Clear Lake itself is home to one of the country’s largest concentrations of recreational boats and marinas.
