Houston Dragon Boat Festival

At the Houston Dragon Boat Festival, teams of 25 competing for the revered Dragon Cup as they race down a 250-meter stretch of Buffalo Bayou at historic Allen’s Landing in Downtown Houston in traditional Hong Kong-style dragon boats. Quickly becoming an internationally popular sport, dragon boat racing hits the waters of Downtown Houston every may. Boating teams include a steersman, a drummer, 20 paddlers and 3 alternates. Throughout the day’s racing, a celebration of Asian culture takes place at Allen’s Landing Park with food, entertainment and activities for the whole family.
