House of Blues Opening Night
Opened in October 2008 with Dan Akroyd and Jim Belushi performing as the Blues Brothers, House of Blues Houston allows fans to see some of the biggest names in music up close and personal in an intimate, yet stellar setting. Located in the GreenStreet development, the House of Blues Houston has become one of the city’s top spots for live music performances. The Bronze Peacock Room pays tribute to Houston’s first blues club where Big Momma Thornton and Lightnin’ Hopkins performed for the first time. Keeping with tradition, the House of Blues Houston displays the “Crazy Quilt” and keeps a metal box of mud from the Delta Mississippi underneath its stage as a gesture to ensure that each performer will have the “spirit of the South” beneath their feet.
