Latin Grammys Pre-Show Party

In 2008, Houston was front and center on the international musical stage for the first time in its history when the curtain rose on the 9th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. Held at the Toyota Center and aired on Univision, this was the first major entertainment awards ceremony held in Texas and the first held outside a popular entertainment destination like New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas. The Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year was Gloria Estefan. Juanes was the night’s big winner with five awards, including Album of the Year.
