Greenlink
Replacing the once-available free downtown trolley, Houstonians and visitors now enjoy the ease and convenience of the Greenlink bus service. Operated by Houston’s METRO through a local agreement with the Downtown District that keeps it free, Greenlink’s buses run on eco-friendly compressed natural gas and service an 18-stop route that makes the rounds to eight hotels, the George R. Brown Convention Center, the central Houston Public Library, Discovery Green, City Hall, Main Street Square and GreenStreet. Running weekdays from 6:30 a.m.– 6:30 p.m., the 28-seat Greenlink buses feature a streamlined modern design, low-floor access, perimeter seating, high-quality air conditioning and are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Each bus also is equipped with a bike rack.
