Livestock Show - Beef Heifers Competition

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo draws thousands of Texas 4-H and FFA student exhibitors to the Main Arena at NRG Park to compete for prizes and pride by showcasing various species of livestock they have raised in hopes of taking home high premiums and the coveted title of Houston Champion in the Junior Market Show. Student exhibitors between the ages of 9 and 18 work for months to prepare for competitions like Beef Heifers, which is a three-day competition with nearly 20 different breeds judge judged in the categories of Heifer Calves, Junior Heifers and Senior Heifers, and the breed’s desired characteristics. Each division’s overall winners compete for Supreme Champion Drive.
