Shell and Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston - 2013
On October 5–6, 2013, the Shell-Pennzoil Grand Prix of Houston returned to the city after a six-year absence and became the third and final doubleheader of the 2013 IndyCar Series season. Racers sped around the Astrodome and Reliant Stadium on a temporary 1.7-mile street-circuit track built in and around the Reliant Park complex. With 10 turns and four pedestrian bridges, spectators had no shortage of ways to view the action. Presented by Shell and Pennzoil along with the Greater Houston Honda Dealers, the “Three-Day Festival of Speed” included two separate 90-lap races on the course as well as several smaller races featuring a variety of classes and a host of off-track attractions. Raced on the same course used for the 2006 and 2007 Houston races, both won by French driver Sebastien Bourdais, the winner of each race was awarded with the A.J. Foyt Trophy.
