Sugar Land Skeeters

A professional American baseball team based in Sugar Land, Texas, the Sugar Land Skeeters are part of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, an independent league unaffiliated with Major League Baseball. Making their home at Constellation Field since 2012, the Skeeters are the first independent league baseball team in the Greater Houston area since the Houston Buffaloes’ final season in 1961. Through a team-sponsored fan poll, the team is named for the Southern slang for “mosquito,” which are very common in the summer nights in Southeast Texas.
