Skatestock

The brainchild of Barry Blumenthal, Skatestock is a unique free skateboarding celebration at the Lee and Joe Jamail skatepark in Downtown Houston. Skateboarders from the golden era of the late ’70s and early ’80s attend, skating and interacting with the public. The event combines skateboarding, music and art by spectacular demonstrations and access to meet the legends of the sport. The spirit of Skatestock revolves around the earlier generation of skateboarders and draws on the creativity of both skate and punk rock music through authentic connections.
