Houston Cougars vs. Tulane Homecoming Football Game
Representing the University of Houston in NCAA Division I football, the Houston Cougars football program is a member of the American Athletic Conference. From 1941 to 1950 and 1997 to 2012, the UH Cougars played home games on campus at Robertson Stadium. The team now plays on John O’Quinn Field at the school’s brand-new Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) Stadium opened for the 2014 season on the former Robertson Stadium site. Also known as The Cage, the new stadium is located on Cullen Boulevard in the Stadium District on the University of Houston campus. Throughout its history, the Cougars team has won 10 conference championships and boasts several players as members of the College Football Hall of Fame. SPIRIT OF HOUSTON COUGAR MARCHING BAND The Spirit of Houston is two hundred and fifty members strong and serves as the largest spirit group on campus. University of Houston football games, both home and away, serve as the band's primary performance outlet as it performs both prior to kickoff and at halftime. It also leads pep rallies and other various events around the campus and city.
