Houston Cougars vs. Tulane Homecoming Football Game
Representing the University of Houston in NCAA Division I football, the Houston Cougars football program is a member of the American Athletic Conference. From 1941 to 1950 and 1997 to 2012, the UH Cougars played home games on campus at Robertson Stadium. The team now plays on John O’Quinn Field at the school’s brand-new Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) Stadium opened for the 2014 season on the former Robertson Stadium site. Also known as The Cage, the new stadium is located on Cullen Boulevard in the Stadium District on the University of Houston campus. Throughout its history, the Cougars team has won 10 conference championships and boasts several players as members of the College Football Hall of Fame. HOMECOMING Homecoming is more than a football game, especially at the University of Houston. Here it is weeklong celebration that unites students and organizations and showcases Cougar Pride and Cougar Spirit during one of the oldest traditions on campus. On November 8, 2014, the Cougars celebrated their first Homecoming in the new Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU) Stadium.
