The Springbok

Founded originally as Springbok Bar & Grill in Los Angeles by managing partner Peter Walker, Springbok is Houston’s very own South African– and rugby-themed bar. Located at 711 Main, the 9,000-square-foot Springbok features a 45-foot-long bar on the first level and a second-floor generous patio with views up and down Main Street’s METRO rail line. The two-level South African restaurant and sports pub offers a lively gathering place for catching a rugby or cricket match on a big plasma screens. The Southern Hemisphere–influenced menu features contemporary takes on classic dishes while the seasonal cocktail selection includes traditional options like a shandy.
