Located in the MD Anderson Cancer Center, part of the acclaimed Texas Medical Center, the MD Anderson Proton Therapy Center offers the most advanced radiation for treating prostate, lung, head and neck, liver, esophagus, pediatric and brain cancer as well as lymphoma and other rare tumors. An advanced type of radiation treatment using a proton beam to deliver radiation directly to the tumor, proton therapy destroys cancer cells while sparing healthy tissues. The MD Anderson Proton Therapy Center pioneered the extremely precise and innovative form of proton therapy known as “pencil beam scanning.”
