Art Boots - 75th anniversary of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

In 2007, to celebrate the 75th Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, 12 50-pound, 6-foot-high fiberglass painted boot sculptures were displayed at Eleanor Tinsley Park. Known as the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Western Heritage Community Challenge Committee’s inaugural Boot Scoot 2007, it included 90 sculptures that were displayed in public spaces throughout some of the Greater Houston area’s most trafficked areas. The boots were underwritten by businesses, organizations and individuals and painted by community members and artists.
