Houston Texas Temple

The 97th operating temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS Church or Mormons) and one of four in Texas, the Houston Texas Temple was dedicated in 2000 on a site previously owned by a developer who wanted to “pay God back” for helping him avoid financial ruin. The 33,970-square-foot Houston Texas Temple includes two ordinance rooms and two sealing rooms, serving the more than 44,000 Latter-Day Saints in the southern half of Texas.
