Intrude - Amanda Parer

An art installation called Intrude was transplanted to Downtown Houston for a week in front of the 1600 Smith Street tower after a stint in New York City as part of a four-city national tour and free exhibition. Created by Australian artist Amanda Parer, the art piece features monumental sculptural rabbits, each sewn in white nylon, inflated and internally lit. The depiction of towering inflatable rabbits examines the duality of the animals, which appear soft and cuddly but are considered an out-of-control ecological disaster in the artist’s native Australia.
