CenterPoint Energy Tower

Home to the headquarters of CenterPoint Energy, the CenterPoint Energy Tower is the epitome of what can be achieved with imagination and ingenuity. What began as a relatively standard skyscraper, an energy-efficient but boring block of black glass, the building was transformed into a Houston landmark in 1996 by the architectural firm of DMJM Keating when it added a six-story “top hat” with a circular hole in its roof that becomes illuminated at night. Other significant exterior architectural elements include a light tower, ground-level pyramid skylights, a stainless-steel entry element while glass rails, cladding and custom light fixtures enhance the lobby.
