Saddle Bronc Riding
Long considered the premier rodeo event, saddle bronc riding has roots back to the first ranchers as a form of breaking in and training new horses to work on the land. Today, it’s one of the toughest of all rodeo events because of its technical requirements. Holding onto a rope tied around the horse’s halter, cowboys must ride for eight seconds while achieving the “mark out” (their feet must touch the horse’s shoulders on the initial jump).
