Lightning Tree by Giuseppe Penone

The Lillie and Hugh Roy Cullen Sculpture Garden on the south lawn of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston features an array of stunning sculptures like Giuseppe Penone’s Lightning Tree. This 36-foot-tall, 2.5-ton bronze sculpture represents a tree being struck by lightning. Cast from an actual tree destroyed by lightning in Belgium, the sculpture now appears as a magnificent metal toothpick with a jagged top.
