Discovery Green with One Park Place and Hess Tower

A beautiful, vibrant park in the heart of Downtown Houston, Discovery Green opened to the public in April 2008 and is now the downtown area’s premier green space. The 29-story Hess Tower takes up an entire city block adjacent to Discovery Green. At 490 feet, the tower is unusually tall for a 29-story building, but that is due to a miniature wind farm located on the roof that has 10 wind turbines that offer the perfect finishing touch on a building that hopes to lunge Houston forward as a symbol of sustainability. A landmark of the downtown area, One Park Place sits adjacent to Discovery Green. The luxurious building departs from the current trend of modern-looking apartment buildings, offering residents a classic vibe that is reminiscent of the historic structures that define the urban spaces of Central Park in New York, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
