Bloch Cancer Survivors Plaza

Located near the M. D. Anderson Medical Center, the Bloch Cancer Survivor Commemorative Plaza at Hermann Park was designed to give patients diagnosed with cancer the will to fight. Within the plaza, 3,800 individual wrought-iron magnolia leaves from overlapping flowers form the roof of a gazebo with carved limestone pillars that are rough at their bases and more refined as they rise into a smooth and graceful finish with inlaid colorful ceramic medallions at the tops.
