University of Houston Campus

A state research university, the University of Houston (UH) is the flagship institution of the University of Houston System. Founded in 1927, UH has a proud heritage of academic excellence as the third largest university in Texas and sits amid the bustling international city of Houston as a lush, green oasis. Fountains and sculptures adorn the grounds while manicured lawns and tree-filled parks offer a sense of open space. In 1947, the institution adopted the cougar, Shasta, as its official mascot.
