University of Houston Campus - Republican Presidential Debate

A state research university, the University of Houston (UH) is the flagship institution of the University of Houston System. Founded in 1927, UH has a proud heritage of academic excellence as the third largest university in Texas and sits amid the bustling international city of Houston as a lush, green oasis. Fountains and sculptures adorn the grounds while manicured lawns and tree-filled parks offer a sense of open space. In 1947, the institution adopted the cougar, Shasta, as its official mascot. On February 25, 2016 the University of Houston was selected by CNN and Telemundo as site-host of a Republican presidential primary candidates’ debate.
