Julia Ideson Building

Part of the Houston Public Library in Downtown Houston, the Julia Ideson Building is a restored historic library noted for its Spanish Renaissance architecture. Reopened to the general public in 2011, the Julia Ideson Building is home to the Houston Metropolitan Research Center (HMRC) and houses offices for Houston Public Library and Houston Public Library Foundation staff. During regular library hours, locals and visitors can enjoy the Exhibit Hall, which hosts rotating exhibits of items from HMRC’s collection as well as visiting exhibits, and the magnificent Reading Room.
