First Methodist Houston Downtown

Located in the heart of the city at 1320 Main Street and Clay is First Methodist Houston’s Downtown Campus This historic facility, which was built in 1910 on the then “outskirts” of Houston, contains a beautiful sanctuary with ornate stained-glass windows and an Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ with more than 7,000 pipes. At this facility is also a chapel and a book and gift store. The adjoining Education Building, built in 1928, is used for Sunday School classes and events while the church corner tower still stands powerful and defiant against the towering modern skyline.
