Astros 2017 World Series Championship Parade
A parade celebrating the Astros World Series Championship was held in downtown Houston. The Astros captured the 2017 championship with a 5-1 win in the deciding Game 7 against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Los Angeles to take the best-of-seven-game series. The World Series title is the team’s first in its 56-year history. During the 20-block downtown parade route, World Series MVP George Springer planted the Houston Astros' championship trophy at the front of a fire truck to a cheering crowd as the team began their victory parade, with orange and blue confetti raining down as they passed a potentially record-setting number of fans in downtown. Approximately one million fans attended the event. Fans stood more than 10 rows deep, with chants of "Let's go Astros" echoing off skyscrapers.
