Hess Tower

The 29-story Hess Tower takes up an entire city block adjacent to Discovery Green. Formerly called Discovery Tower until Hess Corporation leased it in 2009, Hess Tower features a 10-story parking garage attached via a sky bridge. Designed with a landscaped plaza, the building boasts an entrance pavilion with a porte-cochere that opens into a multilevel lobby. At 490 feet, the tower is unusually tall for a 29-story building, but that is due to a miniature wind farm located on the roof that has 10 wind turbines that offer the perfect finishing touch on a building that hopes to lunge Houston forward as a symbol of sustainability.
