Houston Zoo – Chimpanzee Exhibit

Visited annually by more than 2.3 million guests, the renowned Houston Zoo showcases the world’s ecosystems that supports more than 6,000 animals and countless plant species and provide a fun, educational experience that promotes appreciation, knowledge and care for the natural world. Found within Houston’s famed Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo is home to creatures big and small from all over the world and shows adults and children ways they can protect the prosperity of the animals that they love. CHIMPANZEE EXHIBIT Since December 2010, the Houston Zoo has been home to chimps who live in a state-of-the-art facility in the new African Forest. In their new home, the chimps have first-rate bedrooms for a good night’s sleep and a community space for engaging in activities and fun with their keepers. Having chimps at the Houston Zoo helps raise awareness for their endangered counterparts in Africa, and teaches the importance of protecting wildlife!
