Houston Zoo – Giraffe Exhibit

GIRAFFE EXHIBIT The Houston Zoo’s giraffe family has seven Masai giraffes, including four males and three females. Giraffes are the tallest living terrestrial animals with the average males measuring about 17 feet tall and weighing 3,000 pounds and average females reaching more than 14 feet tall. While Masai giraffes are not endangered in their native habitat, there are less than 100 of them in North American zoos.
