Founded in 1900, the Baylor College of Medicine is the only private medical school in the Greater Southwest and is internationally respected as a medical and research institution known for excellence in education, research and patient care. Located in the Texas Medical Center, Baylor College of Medicine is one of the leading research-intensive medical schools in the country. Also here are the Baylor College of Medicine Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences; the Baylor College of Medicine School of Allied Health Sciences; and the Baylor College of Medicine National School of Tropical Medicine.
